Decades later, in the mid-2000s emerged a portable gaming wonder: The PlayStation Portable (PSP). At its forefront was Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, the game that wrote itself into gaming history. On the road with Toni: The 4.3-inch screen on a PSP whisked players away to Liberty City’s mean streets, where as hoodlum wannabe Tony Cipriani they moved through criminal circles. This little adventure turned ordinary lunches and commutes into high-stakes missions. Adding multiplayer functionality gave missions and street battles a social dimension, allowing friends to play together. Now, with our return to the PSP and Liberty City we remember a year when every pixel told of tales that were as intriguing for their personal ambition as they were mind-blowing in themselves.
